Dear Students and Friends,
When Master Robert and I took over the school, we had such
big hopes and dreams. We also had a
plan. Then the economy tanked and Master
Robert, along with many of our students, lost their jobs. Everyone had to tighten their financial belts
in order to make sure primary bills were paid.
When this happened we lost many of our students and the school has never
recovered.
We have tried to keep the doors open so our students can
continue to learn for 7 years. I can
list many reasons, but the bottom line is with the current student population,
we cannot pay the bills. Master Robert
and I no longer have personal funds to keep throwing at the bills, so we have
made the very difficult decision to close the school.
We will remain open thru February 27th, offering
1 class Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 for adults and kids. On Saturdays we will have our 8:30 and 10am
classes. The 10a class will be open to
both adults and kids. We will no longer
have a separate kid’s class on Saturday.
I know there are students who would like to continue to
train. We’ve talked about getting
together in Master Robert’s garage or at another location on Saturdays for 3
hours so those who would like to train can continue to do so. We will pass this along as more information
becomes available. We are looking into
other alternate locations as well. We
encourage you to seek out others who have trained in KFSS and keep learning.
We have decided to sell many of the fixtures and equipment
to help offset some of the bills and anything that is not sold will be donated if
it cannot be stored.
This has been a very difficult decision for us to make. We thank all of you who have continued to
support and train with us and hope to keep KFSS alive in DFW.
