Updates Week Ending 12/11/10

OK...we're having printer issues at the school so I am hoping I get this to work (loading the attendance file here).

OK...I'm getting better! Grrrrr.....

So...
Advanced Forms this Friday 12/10 at 7pm. This will be the last time we meet until January 8th at the 10am class.

Kids Movie Night December 17th 6-9pm "How to Train Your Dragon". Sign up sheet is in the lobby on the white board, but you can also send me an email and I'll get your kids on the list. Cost is $8 per child and we'll have pizza, snacks and games! (I do need a few ADULT volunteers to help out....wink, wink, nudge, nudge...)

SNAP graduation is Wednesday December 15th at 5pm and KFSS Graduation is December 18th at 9:30. This will be a small graduation but it is just as important to come out and support those folks who are graduating so please make plans to attend.

We roll into a modified schedule beginning December 20th with only the 5:30 and 6:30 classes on Monday and Tuesday (12/20 & 12/21) then we will be closed until the following Monday and have the same modified schedule on 12/27 & 12/28. We'll re-open for the new quarter on January 3rd.

It's a crazy time of year...everyone stay safe!

Warning! Be careful what you post!

The below link is a story on CBS 11 TV's website. The Secret Service is warning people....yet again...about posting too much personal information on social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace and Twitter (and all the others).

I would also like to add something to this. The elderly and children are most often targeted. Just because you haven't 'friended' someone doesn't mean they can't get to your information. Be wary. If you have tweens and teens who are getting on these sites, sit down with them and talk about the dangers of posting TOO much information.

Social Networking sites serve as a convenient means of communicating information to lots of people and they can be very useful. Ask yourself this "Can the information I post be used to hurt me or my family?" If you can answer yes...then you may want to re-think posting it on your page.

Be wary my friends.
Ms. Kris
